Advice for Road Runners: The New Balance Women's Fresh Foam X 860 V14 Running Shoes have a brand new midsole. The goal is to deliver a softer and plusher underfoot feel, without compromising support.

Underfoot Feel

The New Balance Women's Fresh Foam X 860 V14 Running Shoes should feel softer underfoot than the last version. This is because they feature a new evolved Fresh Foam X midsole. A top layer of soft foam offers a forgiving and plush experience. In contrast, a slightly firmer bottom layer creates stability and support.

These do not feature a medial post. Unlike the previous version, they have an EVA film (named Stability Plane) running through the two layers of foam. New Balance's testing makes them confident this new technology works better than the previous support structure.

Overall, the midsole should deliver a plush underfoot feel, while also feeling stable and supportive.

Upper Fit

The New Balance Fresh Foam X 860 V14 Running Shoes have a supportive engineered mesh upper. This should mirror the structured feel of the midsole.

Ideal Run Type

Given these New Balance running shoes feature a soft and highly-energetic foam, they should be suitable for a range of paces. By this, we mean they should perform at both slower and steady efforts. They should also feel comfortable for short and long distance runs.

For the avoidance of doubt, the New Balance Women's Fresh Foam X 860 V14 are stability running shoes. They're best suited to runners who have unstable feet and ankles.

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
